The Berlin Brothersvalley chapter finished up their 2013 schedule in August with the chapter picnic held at the Berlin Brothersvalley Community Grove. We had the honor of having President Corman join us for an evening of good food, fun and fellowship. Everyone was glad to see advisor Doyle Paul out and about after his recent hospital stay. A life membership certificate was presented to Jason Ickes during this time. Tyler Claypool’s will be mailed. One of the highlights of the evening was our "Farm Trivia" game hosted by Carol Leydig. The men’s team, composed of Dwayne Northcraft, School Superintendant, State Representative Carl Metzgar and member Jason Ickes took home the prize for knowing the most correct answers. The fair booth committee met briefly after the picnic.
The Berlin Brothersvalley Young Farmer fair booth took second place at the Somerset County Fair and took first at the Berlin Brothersvalley Community Fair. "Harvest Your Dreams", which was also the theme for the PA Assoc of State Fairs, was used as their theme for this year’s booth.
The planning meeting for 2014 was held on November 12, 2013 at the Berlin Fire Hall. All events will be verified and Schedules will be mailed out to the membership the end of December.
